“The Ifs comes from creating all those games, traps, gadgets and alarms you wanted in your childhood, all the materials you need to cause mischief!” Designed so that we can learn, from a young age, how to create anything we can imagine.

Where can we learn more about The Ifs?
We are parents, teachers, and creators. Electronics, programming, and education are our work and our passion all at the same time. We truly believe that technology has the potential to make the world a better place.
In 2013, we launched Makeroni, a non-profit organization to create digital craft projects with social impact. We build prototypes such as the Eye of Horus, winner of NASA’s IV KSC Space Apps and finalist in the I UAE AI & Robotics Award, competing with prestigious institutions such as MIT, Stanford, University of California, Berkeley.
We also organize educational tech workshops for children and adults. At the end of 2017, we were looking for ways to teach technology through play in early childhood. For this reason, we came up with The Ifs, an inclusive toy without barriers or screens.
This project serves as a culmination of our efforts to date. With your support, we will continue developing technologies that will revolutionize children’s education.
This is our first product but not the last. 🙂
The Ifs are a family of robots that bring technology closer to children. With the help of their creativity and imagination, kids will learn how to code and develop logical thinking.
These skills are essential for children, so they can shape their own future.
Our 4 main ideas creating products:
Tangible programming: Programming is as simple as placing physical blocks on their heads with the help of magnets. No screens are involved
Scalable: The Ifs strengthen learning throughout their childhood while playing! As they get older, they will be able to learn more complex concepts.
Inclusive: The Ifs are designed so both girls and boys can learn how to code by playing, putting gender roles aside while also committing to diversity.
Technology: Sensors, actuators, compatible with Arduino, NFC technology in the programming blocks, RF to communicate between robots, and WIFI/Bluetooth 4.0 communication with the rest of the world.
The Ifs comes from creating all those games, traps, gadgets and alarms you wanted in your childhood, all the materials you need to cause mischief!
Designed so that we can learn, from a young age, how to create anything we can imagine.
Coding is only a part of the game, a tool to imagine and create thousands of adventures with different character.
Our inspiration are based in programming concepts:
Algorithms: Algorithms are a set of precise instructions. The Ifs blocks are a physical representation of an instruction which you combine to create a program.
Conditionals: The instructions of a computer program are executed in sequence. You can add different instructions by placing certain IF – THEN pieces on their head.
Debugging: Correcting errors is as easy as changing the blocks until the robot executes what you want them to do.
The whole family can have fun with The Ifs: children, and not-so-children, can invent new things, while teachers can use them to help develop skills of the future.
The main advice that we have is: until you have twice as many people interested in your product that you need for your campaign is a success. With this, everything will be much better.
We would like to present too the pillars of technological education for all entrepreneurs who are encouraged to work in this sector:
STEAM: We seek to help children develop skills in: mechanics, electronics, mathematics or programming, all before they can read or write.
Teamwork: Your possibilities increase when you play with others, encouraging co-creation and cooperation.
Diversity and social inclusion: Using different colours, shapes and characters, The Ifs makes no distinction between girls and boys.
Socialisation: Creating links between them and their environment.
Share: Its Open Source Software allows you to incorporate the work of other users, share with the community and develop their skill by playing
Logical Thinking: You can develop better logical skills with the help of conditionals.
Creativity: Unleash your imagination and create stories or characters through 3D design and printing
Multisensory capacity: Hearing, sight, touch… The Ifs are designed to sharpen sensory capacity!
Trello: It is a collaboration tool that organizes your projects into boards. In one glance, Trello tells you what’s being worked on, who’s working on what, and where something is in a process.
Jellop: Maximize your Kickstarter project with high-precision advertising on Facebook and Google.
Kicktraq: The Crowdfunding Analytics & Discovery Platform!
Our mission is simple: make #coding as easy as 1, 2, 3. So even a 4-year-old #children can learn how to code.
Our plan is #savetheifs and help Marta:
Marta needs your help! We have to save the #TheIFS!
